Rising Founders is a Massachusetts-based nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing economic opportunity through entrepreneurship. We provide entrepreneurship education, mentorship, and business development support for individuals exploring ideas, launching new ventures, and growing established enterprises.
Through bilingual (English/Spanish) education, personalized coaching, funding navigation, and strong community partnerships, we equip entrepreneurs with the tools, knowledge, and access they need to start, grow, and sustain small businesses that strengthen families, neighborhoods, and local economies.
Rising Founders was founded by Erica F. Porzio and Colleen Island Mateo, and joined by Treasurer, Elizabeth Garzon — leaders with deep experience in business development, financial services, and community advocacy. Together, they share a commitment to equity, accessibility, and empowering entrepreneurs at every stage of their journey.
Programs
We believe entrepreneurship should be accessible, supported, and inclusive. Our structured, tiered programs provide practical tools and meaningful guidance for business owners at every stage — helping turn ideas into sustainable ventures while contributing to stronger communities.
Each cohort is intentionally small (8–12 participants) and runs over 8–10 weeks, creating space for personalized support, accountability, and measurable progress.
